Industry Architects
Throughout history, brewing has been done primarily by women, beginning with the earliest civilizations in Africa & the Middle East. Kweza celebrates this history, creating Rwanda’s first craft brewery and making it the first country in the world where the modern craft brewing industry is being launched by women.
Economic Drivers
While beer has always been women’s craft, fewer than 4% of the world’s head brewers are women. Kweza is establishing women’s leadership in the craft beer industry in Rwanda. Creating jobs, developing skills, & growing company equity for women brewers, we aim to increase women’s generational wealth.
Environmental Stewards
Kweza sources grains, fruits, and other native plant ingredients, and recirculates spent grains back to farms. We’re continually looking for ways to minimize our environmental impact. For our full-scale brewery, we are evaluating options to collect rainwater, rely on solar power & create a wastewater wetland system to complete a sustainable system in an urban environment.
